IPR Policy

TSDSI Intellectual Property Rights Policy

TSDSI's IPR Policy ensures that standards can be implemented on a FRAND (Fair, Reasonable and Non-Discriminatory) basis. Contributors to TSDSI standards are required to disclose patents that may be essential to the implementation of any TSDSI specification.

The IPR Policy applies to all members participating in Study Group and Working Group activities. Upon disclosure, patent holders must commit to licensing on FRAND terms or declare the patent free of royalties.

TSDSI maintains a public IPR database of all Essential Patent declarations. The database is updated upon receipt of each declaration and is freely searchable by standard number, contributor, or patent number.
