Mission & Vision

Our Mission

To develop India-specific standards and technical requirements in the ICT sector, ensuring that India's unique needs — particularly related to low-cost access, local language support, and rural connectivity — are incorporated into both national and international standards.

Our Vision

To position India as a global leader in telecom/ICT standardization, making India a significant contributor to international standards bodies while ensuring Indian industry and consumers benefit from world-class, India-tailored technology standards.

What We Do

Core Objectives

Standards Development

Develop India-specific telecommunications standards and technical specifications addressing unique Indian requirements like local language support, low-bandwidth solutions, and rural connectivity.

International Liaison

Represent India's interests at international standards bodies including ITU, 3GPP, oneM2M, ETSI, GSMA, and IEEE, ensuring Indian perspectives shape global telecom standards.

Industry Collaboration

Bring together telecom operators, equipment manufacturers, academia, government, and civil society to collaborate on developing consensus-based national standards.

Capacity Building

Build Indian expertise and capability in ICT standardization through training, workshops, and participation in international standards bodies.

Technical Reports
