Information on elections to the Governing Council and Study Group leadership — process, eligibility, schedule, and results.
Governing Council Elections
The Governing Council has 17 elected seats across five membership categories. Elections are held every 3 years by the General Assembly. The Election Officer is appointed by the incumbent GC at least 90 days before the election date.
The 2025–28 GC term elections are scheduled for Q4 2025. Member organisations in good standing (fees paid, active for ≥12 months) are eligible to nominate candidates and vote.
Nomination forms for the 2025–28 GC term will be available for download from 1 September 2025. Completed nominations must reach the Secretariat by 30 September 2025.

Election Process
Election Officer appointed; dates notified to all members; nomination forms released 90 days before election.
Member organisations submit nominations on official form with candidate bio, consent letter, and proposer/seconder signatures.
Election Officer verifies eligibility; candidate list published 30 days before election; time for withdrawals.
Eligible members vote in person at the General Assembly or by proxy. Results announced same day; term begins immediately.
Study Group Chair Elections
SG Chairs and Working Group Convenors are elected by SG delegates at the first plenary of each new term. Candidates must be nominated by a TSDSI member organisation in good standing.
SG Chairs serve a 2-year term (renewable once). WG Convenors serve 1-year terms. All elections are conducted by simple majority vote of SG delegates present.
